Fiscal sponsorship is part of the general financial assistance program of the Conseil des arts de Montréal (CAM) designed to assist arts organizations on the Island of Montréal that do not have registered charity numbers. Fiscal sponsorship enables arts organizations meeting the CAM's eligibility criteria to solicit tax-deductible donations from foundations, corporations, and individuals. CAM acts as an intermediary which, having vouched for the artistic, administrative, and structural quality of the organizations, issues tax receipts to the donors and distributes grants to the arts organizations.
